Founded in 1998, Lancaster & David, CPAs, is an independent accounting firm in downtown Vancouver. Our team services clients throughout Canada and the United States, including those with national and international operations.
Our close-knit team is guided by respect, responsiveness and accountability. We’re committed to not only delivering accounting services you can count on, but also insights and advice to anticipate, meet and exceed your evolving needs.
We provide individualized solutions for publicly listed and private entities, owner-managed businesses, and individuals, including financial reporting and consulting, tax planning, and assurance services.
Meet Our Partners
David E. Lancaster, CPA, CA
David is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology and received his legacy Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1993. He is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
His primary areas of practice are private enterprise companies, not-for-profits, individuals, estates and trusts, including extensive experience with real estate development and construction companies in particular.
David is also committed to serving the community. He is currently a member of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame Board of Governors and past chair of the Board. Additionally, he previously served as the Chair and Treasurer of the Michael J. Fox Theatre Society.
Alan Ong, CPA, CA
Alan is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and received his legacy Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2011. He began his career with our firm in 2007 and grew into an integral part of the Private Enterprise team. He completed the CPA In-Depth Tax program and is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Alan has extensive experience in the areas of Canadian taxation, accounting and assurance services for private entities, and general business advisory. His primary responsibilities include overseeing the firm’s tax planning practice and managing tax compliance engagements for clients with complex tax structures. He works closely with clients and their advisors on a wide range of tax issues including estate planning, business succession planning, business/property acquisition and divestitures, corporate reorganization, and remuneration strategies. He also has extensive experience working with clients in the real estate construction and development industry and professional businesses.
In his free time, Alan enjoys spending time with his family and playing table tennis and golf.

Aaron D. Oye, CPA, CA, CPA (Illinois)
Aaron is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology and received his legacy Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2010, as well as his U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 2012.
His primary areas of practice are corporate accounting and financial reporting services for Canadian and U.S. public companies and private entities looking to go public. In addition, he provides assurance and taxation services for Canadian public and private entities. Aaron has extensive experience with several industry sectors including biotechnology, manufacturing, mining, technology, and retail & distribution.
When he’s away from the office, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and living an active lifestyle by participating in a wide range of activities including hockey and golf.
Brandon J. David, CPA
Brandon is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology and received his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2019. He has been with Lancaster & David for over a decade and is committed to providing services that exceed expectations.
Brandon provides assurance, financial reporting, bookkeeping, and taxation services for both public and private companies as well as taxation services for individuals. His diverse experience covers a wide range of industries, including mining, oil and gas, technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, cannabis, and retail. Brandon enjoys solving complex accounting issues for public companies, with personable, easy-to-understand advice and analysis.
Outside the office, Brandon enjoys spending quality time with his family and staying active through hockey and golf.
Retired Partners
Michael J. David, CPA, CA, CPA (Illinois)
Michael earned his legacy Chartered Accountant (CA) designation back in 1991, followed by his U.S. CPA in 2003. Over the years, he worked mainly with Canadian and U.S. public companies, helping them with accounting and financial reporting. He also handled bookkeeping, audit and review work, and tax services for all kinds of organizations.
Outside the office, Michael’s always been big on staying active – hockey, golf, and long distance running on both road and trails are his go-to’s. Michael was also a former member of the BCIT Accounting Program Advisory Committee.
After a long and fulfilling career in public accounting, Michael has retired from Lancaster and David, CPAs. He’s grateful for the trust, support, and relationships built with clients, colleagues, and friends over the years. As he settles into retirement, he’s still staying connected by doing some consulting and advisory work with the firm, continuing to support longtime clients while moving into this next chapter.
